Search Engine Optimization Tips (SEO Tips)

No one can tell exactly how your web site appears at the top of search engine results and what is the search engines needed to do it. But there are some techniques that can use to optimize your site to get a great result.

Here I’m going to tell you some of techniques that I have personally got great result with my SEO campaign. Search Engine Optimization is something that is frequently changing but if you learn at least the basic techniques you won’t go wrong.

Basically Search Engine Optimization means how your website gains a top order placement of Search engine results.

I will use my blog as an example while I going through this techniques.

Domains:

Most of bloggers say having your Keywords in URL of your site is important. My opinion is it is not a most important factor in SEO campaign but certainly it has some kind of value. Don’t worry it definitely would not hurt to go ahead. See my main Key words are online Money earning and blogging, I have earn and blog in my URL

Meta Tags:

This is a one of main fragment of on-page SEO campaign. Meta tags are placed between Head section of your site and it gives the main description/ idea about your blog or site to the search Engines. I have already given a big description about this category in a previous posts so I’m not going to present a big story here.

Key words :

I think this is the most important part. Selecting a good keyword is like half done. Always use a popular keyword. That will give you a great help. If you select a most searching keyword there is a big possibility to gain your site to the top of search result. See in my blog I use keyword like earn money, emoney, SEO.

Internal Linking:

Linking is method what is use to connect another page, another site or a place via a text or an image in the present page. This is also a traffic building method. If some one clicks on one link then it takes that user to another page. You can use this method to link your each web page or blog post between every post. This is a very valuable tip. what is backlink?

What is Backlink ?

Backlink is a Gold Mine

As a blog reader and a blogger number of times I heard the word Backlinks, I meet my few blogging friends and ask for Backlinks several time but unfortunately I didn’t get a good answer for that, finally I decided to search for it and as a result of it I found some information about it and I thought it should share with others.

Simply backlink is a any link received by a web page, directory, website, or top level domain from another web node

Backlink is a valuable part of a SEO campaign. Because how much we increase our Backlinks of our blog the value of the blog increase same as that. So most of webmasters saying putting Backlinks is like digging a gold mine.

Backlinking is not a hard thing. But also it is not a very easy thing
When you surfing on internet you can found some SEO companies and programs tell they give 1000 2000 backlink instantly. That’s right they are instant and worthless. So don’t be lazy to collect backlinks through that method. If you want to get good backlinks you have to collect them manually.
Putting your blog link in some ones site or blog normally called backlinking. It could be in article section or commenting section. Mostly I do it by commenting. When the search engine bots identified you link in another webpage it collected as a backlink.

The Value of a Backlink

Backlinks are very essential fact for a blog, As I told you above backlink is like a gold mine. Because each backlink increases your page rank every time. Bloggers know the value of page ranks. So if you want to get a page rank you have to create tons of natural backlinks manually. Don’t get artificial backlink. Think as google think about backlinks. Create one by one.
If you want to get a good page rank you have to get backlinks from page ranked sites.

How to Collect Natural Backlinks

I’m telling you the easiest and 100% accurate way, search on internet for do follow blogs. And you will find lists of do follow blogs. Commenting on that blogs, that’s what I’m doing. Always use page ranked blogs and sites to comment.
Also you can find article directories and submit articles and have your link mentioned in the resource box . this is also a very accurate backlinking method.

If you put alexa gadget in your site you can count your backlinks from it.
So that’s what I got from my searching about backlinks. Hope you will enjoy this and have a nice blogging….

Meta Tag Explained

Meta Tag Explained

(Meta Tag Part II)

Hello friends, as I told u in earlier post to day finally I’m going to describe Meta tag codes one by one
I think you have added Meta tags to you page after reading my last post about Meta tags,

Title Tag

<Title> Your Blog Title<Title/>

This tag is mostly use by search engine bots (ex: google bot….) to index your blog in search results. Also it gives a quick description to search engines.

Description Tag

<Meta content='Your Blog Description Here' name='description'/>

Under this tag you can add a short description about your blog, but don’t use more than 30-35 characters to do that because nearly first 20-25 characters are only displaying in search result , so use KISS format, don’t misunderstand I mean Keep It Short and Sweet. This is the most important tag.

Keywords Tag

<Meta content=’ Keywords of Your Blog' name='keywords'/>

This tag is also looks like the Description tag. Keywords tag is typically used for synonyms and alternates of title words. Under this tag you can add some key words related to your blog content. From this tag Search engine can identify the content about your blog and show your blog at related keyword search results. But don’t add many keywords as you can because as I told early most of search engines are indexed only first 80-100 characters of this section. So add only most valuable key words to this section

Author Tag

<Meta content="Blog owners Name" name="author"/>

This tag is not purpose for the SEO, because this tag describe only the ownership of the blog, it means if you are the owner of this blog you can include your name to this tag. From this you can add a professional look to the blog.

Copyright Tag

<Meta content="2011, Your Trademark" name="copyright"/>

The Copyright tag is used to include a copyright, trademark, patent, or other information that related to intellectual property. But Please be aware that the Meta Copyright tag will not protect your blog content or your intellectual property

Language Tag

<Meta Name="Language" Content="English">
The Meta Language tag is used to observe the language you used to create the website. Webmasters who wants to confirm the primary language of the web page can use this Language tag.
If you are using another language other than English I always highly recommend you to use Meta Language tag.

Revisit Tag

< Meta Name ="Revisit-After" Content="30 days Days">

The Meta Revisit tag is used to inform search engine bots when to return to index your site. Site like blogs are always updating so search engine bots have to come and index new updates to there search engines. My recommendation is keep this between 15-25 days. but according to my knowledge search engine bots are not obey to our commands, even we added meta revisit tag they came back to our blog to index it in there own schedule. So my view is this is not a very important tag.

Expires Tag

<Meta Content="Never" Name="Expires"/>
Meta Expires tag is used to announce the date and time, after when the blog article should be considered as expired. Use never for the blogs and if u wants to ad expiration date, add it in “Day Month Year” format (Ex: “06 December 2011”). But according to my experience this Tag is worthless.

Distribution Tag

<Meta Content="global" Name="distribution"/>

The Meta Distribution tag is used to declare the distribution of your blog content.
There are three methods on it
  • Global – To entire worlds
  • Local - reserved for the local IP block of your site
  • IU - Internal Use, not for public distribution only for internal use
Now I think you have got some idea about Meta tags. Keep reading forward more SEO news coming soon.

Meta Tags

Meta Tags

(Meta Tag Part I)

 Most of web owners still didn’t use Meta tags at all. I don’t know the reason for that but I know the importance of these Meta tags, so to day I’m going to tell you the importance of Meta tags and how to insert them to your site. Don’t worry it is easy and simple.

It is basically HTML codes that are inserted into the header section on a web page to describe the content about your posts, In the context of search engine optimization, usually it consist of a Meta description and a key words. when people refer to Meta tags, they are usually referring to the Meta description tag and the Meta keywords tag.

Meta description tag and the Meta keywords tag are not seen by users. Instead, these tags main purpose is providing Meta document data to user agents, such as search engines. In addition to the well-known Meta description and keywords tags, there are some other useful Meta tags, including the Meta http-equiv tag, Meta refresh tag, the Meta robots tag, the Meta copyright tag, and the Meta author tag, etc.

These tags are used to give web browsers and search engine spiders directions or data on various information.. Also these tags helps search engine to describe the web page. Most of other search engines like google are still categorize their data according to META tags. So META tags can be used for search engine optimization (SEO).

Do you want to Insert Meta tags to your page?

Ok I know the Answer is YES. Lets do it like this

1st step

Google +1 Increases Your Search Engine Ranking

Google +1 Increases Your Search Engine Ranking

When we hear the word Internet, number of things comes to our mind, but when we saying about search engine, Google have the domination on this term. Indeed, the expression “Google it,” has become a slogan most of us say at least once a day. Google has this impact for the good reasons; it is one of the most groundbreaking, powerful and the largest search engine in the whole world. With its enormous pool of very talented programmers, Google normally tries to remain at the helm with its technical prowess and from time to its modernizations even throw a spanner in the works of the Search Engine Optimization, web creation and landing page designs. That is all about google.

Google has implemented some of the social media and networking web page features, and has come out with Google +1 button, which is very similar to “like” button that we see on the Facebook. The whole notion makes sense from a consumer point of view – your friend tells you that something is good; you presume it is, and is enthusiastic over try it. Prior to the social media boom, we had to deal with the advice of salespersons as they slowly tried to induce us to purchase that product. As we are all aware, building trust and a good status with customers is important to a healthy business, but when we have relatives and friends, who already have gotten that trust, recommending products, the result is a constructive one for all.

For all those who do not consider themselves Internet practical understanding, Google plus one button authorizes others who are conducting searches to propose and endorse the chosen web page to other users or even their close relatives. When you find some constructive listing after carrying out search on some subject, you can let somebody know of this by just clicking on the “+1” button placed just besides the linkage. It is in reality a kind of “thumbs up” to a particular website or link. While clicking on this button, if you are on Gmail or the Google account, your name will flicker on the contacts or the friends who has a connection with you through different Google accounts. This makes this function very personalized and social. One can get all these when you buy Google plus one.

It is now clear that when you buy Google +1, it will definitely have some impact on the ways you do business than the earlier used SEO. This “+1” button will not remain restricted to the Google search listings alone, but will soon be available to various other websites all across the internet. Moreover, this clearly shows that, Google plus one improves your search engine ranking. The owners of web pages can place this button on their locations to seek of approvals and then observe then during analytics. This is an innovative way of the Google to fine-tune their ranking method for the search engine by relying not only on their algorithms but on the approvals of the users as well.

Please be patient I’ll next tell you how to add Google + button to your web page or blog.

Search Engine Positioning Mistakes

Search Engine Positioning Mistakes

When it comes to search engine optimization, there are some common mistakes that we can see people making again and again. Here I include a list of the 11 most common mistakes that I see people making. By avoiding these mistakes, you can avoid a lot of anguish and frustration in the long run.

1) Optimizing your site for the wrong keywords

The first step in any search engine optimization campaign is to choose the keywords for which you should optimize your site. If you initially choose the wrong keywords, all the time and effort that you devote in trying to get your site a high ranking will go down the drain. If you choose keywords which no one searches for, or if you choose keywords which won't bring in targeted traffic to your site, what good will the top rankings do?
In order to learn how you can choose the correct keywords for which you should optimize your site,

2) Putting too many keywords in the Meta Keywords tag

I often see sites which have hundreds of keywords listed in the Meta Keywords tag, in the hope that by listing the keywords in the Meta Keywords tag, they will be able to get a high ranking for those keywords. Nothing could be further from the truth. Contrary to popular opinion, the Meta Keywords tag has almost completely lost its importance as far as search engine positioning is concerned. Hence, just by listing keywords in the Meta Keywords tag, you will never be able to get a high ranking. To get a high ranking for those keywords, you need to put the keywords in the actual body content of your site.

3) Repeating the same keyword too many times

Another common mistake that people make is to endlessly repeat their target keywords in the body of their pages and in their Meta Keywords tags. Because so many people have used this tactic in the past (and continue to use it), the search engines keep a sharp lookout for this, and may penalize a site which repeats keywords in this fashion. Sure, you do need to repeat the keywords a number of times. But, the way you place the keywords in your pages needs to make grammatical sense. Simply repeating the keywords endlessly no longer works. Furthermore, a particular keyword should ideally not be present more than thrice in your Meta Keywords tag.

4) Creating lots of similar doorway pages

Another myth prevalent among people is that since the algorithm of each search engine is different, they need to create different pages for different search engines. While this is great in theory, it is counter-productive in practice. If you use this tactic, you will soon end up with hundreds of pages, which can quickly become an administrative nightmare. Also, just imagine the amount of time you will need to spend constantly updating the pages in response to the changes that the search engines make to their algorithms. Furthermore, although the pages are meant for different engines, they will actually end up being pretty similar to each other. The search engines are often able to detect when a site has created such similar pages, and may penalize or even ban this site from their index. Hence, instead of creating different pages for different search engines, create one page which is optimized for one keyword for all the search engines. In order to learn how to create such pages,

5) Using Hidden Text

Hidden text is text with the same color as the background color of your page. For example, if the background color of your page is white and you have added some white text to that page, that is considered as hidden text. Many webmasters, in order to get high rankings in the search engines, try to make their pages as keyword rich as possible. However, there is a limit to the number of keywords you can repeat in a page without making it sound odd to your human visitors. Thus, in order to ensure that the human visitors to a page don't perceive the text to be odd, but that the page is still keyword rich, many webmasters add text (containing the keywords) with the same color as the background color. This ensures that while the search engines can see the keywords, the human visitors cannot. The search engines have long since caught up with this technique, and ignore or penalize the pages which contain such text. They may also penalize the entire site if even one of the pages in that site contain such hidden text.
However, the problem with this is that the search engines may often end up penalizing sites which did not intend to use hidden text. For instance, suppose you have a page with a white background and a table in that page with a black background. Further suppose that you have added some white text in that table. This text will, in fact, be visible to your human visitors, i.e. this shouldn't be called hidden text. However, the search engines can interpret this to be hidden text because they may often ignore the fact that the background of the table is black. Hence, in order to ensure that your site is not penalized because of this, you should go through all the pages in your site and see whether you have inadvertently made any such mistake.

6) Creating Pages Containing Only Graphics

The search engines only understand text - they don't understand graphics. Hence, if your site contains lots of graphics but little text, it is unlikely to get a high ranking in the search engines. For improving your rankings, you need to replace the graphics by keyword rich text for the search engine spiders to feed on.

7) Not using the NOFRAMES tag in case your site uses frames

Many search engines don't understand frames. For sites which have used frames, these search engines only consider what is present in the NOFRAMES tag. Yet, many webmasters make the mistake of adding something like this to the NOFRAMES tag: "This site uses frames, but your browser doesn't support them". For the search engines which don't understand frames, this is all the text that they ever get to see in this site, which means that the chances of this site getting a good ranking in these search engines are non-existent. Hence, if your site uses frames, you need to add a lot of keyword rich text to the NOFRAMES tag. For more information on the different issues that arise when you use frames in your site,

8) Using Page Cloaking

Page cloaking is a technique used to deliver different web pages under different circumstances. People generally use page cloaking for two reasons: i) in order to hide the source code of their search engine optimized pages from their competitors and ii) in order to prevent human visitors from having to see a page which looks good to the search engines but does not necessarily look good to humans. The problem with this is that when a site uses cloaking, it prevents the search engines from being able to spider the same page that their users are going to see. And if the search engines can't do this, they can no longer be confident of providing relevant results to their users. Thus, if a search engine discovers that a site has used cloaking, it will probably ban the site forever from their index. Hence, my advice is that you should not even think about using cloaking in your site. For more information on what page cloaking is, how it is implemented, and why you should not use cloaking,

9) Using Automatic Submission Tools

In order to save time, many people use an automatic submission software or service to submit their sites to the major search engines. It is true that submitting your site manually to the search engines takes a lot of time and that an automatic submission tool can help you save a lot of time. However, the search engines don't like automatic submission tools and may ignore your pages if you use them. In my opinion, the major search engines are simply too important for you not to spend the time to submit your site manually to them. In order to speed up the process of submitting your site, you can use our free submission tool which allows you to submit your site manually to all the search engines, without having to go to the "ADD URL" pages of the individual engines.

10) Submitting too many pages per day

People often make the mistake of submitting too many pages per day to the search engines. This often results in the search engines simply ignoring many of the pages which have been submitted from that site. Ideally, you should submit no more than 1 page per day to the search engines. While many search engines accept more than 1 page per day from a particular domain, there are some which only accept 1 page per day. Hence, by limiting yourself to a maximum of one page per day, you ensure that you stay within the limits of all the search engines.

11) Devoting too much time to search engine positioning
Yes - I lied. There's another common mistake that people make when it comes to search engine optimization - they spend too much time over it. Sure, search engine placement is the most cost effective way of driving traffic to your site and you do need to spend some time every day learning how the search engines work and in optimizing your site for the search engines. However, you must remember that search engine optimization is a means to an end for you - it's not the end in itself. The end is to increase the sales of your products and services. Hence, apart from trying to improve your site's position in the search engines, you also need to spend time on all the other factors which determine the success or the failure of your web site - the quality of the products and services that you are selling, the quality of your customer service, and so on. You may have excellent rankings in the search engines, but if the quality of your products and services are poor, or if your customer service leaves a lot to be desired, those high rankings aren't going to do much good.

10 Successful Strategies to Promote a Site or Blog

10 Successful Strategies to Promote a Site or Blog

1. Generate a good Traffic for the site/blog.

To generate a lot of traffic to your site and gain recognition, you need to promote in as many places as you possibly can. Do not throw all your advertising dollars in only one or two spots. Try to determine or ask the amount of traffic they are generating. Sites generating huge traffic often require higher advertising rates. Be aware; however, that some sites requesting high advertising rates, may not necessarily be generating that much traffic. There are many sites out there that really offer a great deal and do not charge high rates. To generate more traffic find as many free places to advertise as you possibly can

2. Target the Right Market.

Try to find sites that target the type of audience you are marketing to. Example: Someone selling baby products should advertise at baby sites, mommy sites, networks, groups and forums where mommies hang out and visit frequently. Just because you may be a work-at-home mom doesn't mean you have to limit yourself to just advertising at "WAHM" sites. Place your focus mainly where your targeted market will be, but find all similar possibilities to target as well. Example: If you sell educational products to career-minded young people, you would want to focus where young people of this age visit frequently, but you can also search for a few places to network where moms may visit who have teens getting ready to graduate from high school.

3. Visit Mom Sites.

Spend time visiting other sites by moms and see where they are advertising. If they are displaying a banner on their site referring to some directory or networking site this gives you a clue that they may have exchanged links or listed in their directory for free in exchange for displaying their banner. Exchanging links with websites of similar content and products as yours will help with your search engine rankings and once again target your market. While you are visiting other sites by moms, be sure to sign their guest book while you are there. Many guest books allow you to add your website's url.

4. Use the Search Engines.

Use Google and Yahoo and do a search for "Free Advertising", "List your URL", "Add your URL", "Add your Site", "Free Site Promotion", etc. Also include keywords you use for marketing your site. Just be cautious before spending money with any new sites you haven't heard of before. You will probably be surprised at how many sites you find that still offer free advertising.

5. Go Local.

There is a HUGE competition going on all over the internet especially for those who are promoting websites with direct sales. "Local" is gaining popularity...and for a good reason. If I decided to start buying Avon, for example, I would probably prefer to buy from someone locally. Use the search engines to do a search for free classified ads in your city and nearby locations. See if you can find any local networks, groups, forums, portals, directories, etc.

6. Write Articles or E-books.

You don't have to be a professional writer. Just find some great content, some interesting facts, some helpful hints, etc. Your article does not have to be very long at all. To get better results, write more frequent short articles than just a couple of big long ones now and then. Be sure to include your name and website at the end. If you offer a newsletter, promote it as well. After you write your article, submit it to as many places as you possibly can. Give permission to others to use your articles as long as they include your name and website address.

7. Start a Newsletter

Newsletters are a great way to generate repeat traffic. It reminds your customer or interested visitors about your site when they receive your newsletter. In your newsletter, be sure to encourage your subscribers to forward your newsletter to a friend. Include information about how they can easily subscribe to your newsletter. Offering your subscribers a chance to win a free gift will often help you receive more signups.

8. Add Content.

Content helps get repeat visits to your site. Sites become stale without new content. If you have a site that you can edit, use plenty of good content, especially using keywords that the search engines will pick up particularly targeting your audience that you are marketing too. If you don't have time to do this, there are lots of sites that offer "free content" and "free articles". Just do a search on the search engines to locate them. You can use their content for your site instead of trying to write your own content.

9. Partner with Someone.

Working at home can begin to seem like a long lonesome journey. Find someone you can connect with and trust. Exchange front page links or banners and help each other promote your businesses. You could even add your partner to your signature. For example, under your name and link place: Partner, Andrew - partnersdomain.com. Have your partner do the same for you. Write and promote a newsletter together; manage a networking group together. Partners can encourage each other and make the marketing road a little smoother.

10. Read and Learn.

Marketing is an endless task that must be done to generate sales. The best tip I can give is to read and learn all you can about marketing and sales. You can do this on the internet as well as your local library. Find someone who is successful and get some of their best tips. If possible, set aside at least an hour or two each day promoting your business. Many people make the mistake of thinking they can create a website and traffic will automatically arrive. It just doesn't happen. Behind each successful site is a hard worker who labored away to advertise and promote. You can do it too!
